Sent request for DNA identification to Alexandria after reading an article online about identifying remains of soldiers who are left behind. Evidentally, they can identify the remains of said individuals using mitrochondrial DNA. Unfortunately, this means dna from Hershel's sister or her family, which brings everything to a dead end. Despite much research and many phone calls, it has been virtually impossible to locate her children. Searched newspaper archives and found a short obit and death notice with names listed, but it has again been impossible to track them down. Once in a while, I will come across a lead, but when I call, there is never an answer...
